Dinghies & Day Boats
We have a large and varied fleet of sailing dinghies & day boats available during lessons or for hire for your own adventure. Each craft have their own merits depending on the sailor’s ability and the weather conditions at the time. We will happily help guide you to a boat that will be suitable for your requirements to enjoy your time on our stunning waters.
Due to the shallow waters between the islands on Scilly all of our day boats have centre plates rather than keels and are essentially large dinghies so still possible to capsize, and some are capable of having an outboard engine fitted. Our day boats for hire offer the experienced sailor a fantastic opportunity to explore the islands. Due to changes in demand etc we only have a few day boats now available.

Laser Pico
The Laser Pico is an excellent learning boat, simple, robust and responsive and a lot of fun to hire.
Topaz
These small dinghies are excellent teaching boats a fantastic choice to progress your sailing or just go for a blast. A simple clear cockpit area with a high boom height means they a great for children and adults alike.
RS Vision

Laser Bahia
Great sailing dinghy stable and yet very responsive. Fantastic training boat and great fun to sail. Suitable for up to 5 adults. Wayfarers
The Wayfarer is possibly one of the greatest and well-known designs of larger sailing dinghy. The Wayfarer is the main instruction boat for most UK centres due to it being incredibly stable and spacious and its ability to sail incredibly well in a large range of conditions. The majority of our sailing courses will start in these versatile boats, and they make a great choice for sailing boat hire.
Beaufort (5 person)
Essentially a very large Wayfarer, with plenty of room a large sail area and a large metal centre plate. She sails brilliantly and is capable of taking an outboard. As there is a slight risk of capsize with this boat it must have the outboard stowed when sailing.
Drascombe Dabber
Traditional style open dayboat. The Dabber is a pretty vessel which is stable and great for pottering along.
